Five Little Pumpkins

They must have already started getting them ready for the Christmas program at school because Brooke came home today singing this song:
Jinger Bells, Jinger Bells
Jinger all the way
Jinger Bells, Jinger Bells, Jinger Bells
Hey
Favorite Movie: Dora’s Halloween (referred to as Spooky Dora)
Favorite Book: If You’re Happy and You Know It
Favorite TV Show: Backyardigans
Favorite Toy: Baby Dolls
Favorite Food: Dora and Diego yogurts
Other cool things about me: I love singing lots of songs I learn at school. I am getting very good at catching balls and kicking the soccer ball while running. I am very good at helping take care of Baby Luke.
At Brooke’s school, you need to send an extra set of clothes in their bag each day in case they have a potty accident. Otherwise they cannot stay at school. Brooke has not had an accident yet, but she tells me all the time that Mary Alice peed in her panties (and Mary Alice is one of the older kids in the class…she just turned 3). Well, somehow Brooke’s panties seem to be vanishing from her bag. I am not sure if they drop out somewhere and get lost and never to be found (they have her name in them) or if the teachers are taking her panties and giving them to a girl who peed in all her own panties. And if they are taking them for other kids, don’t you think they should let me know? And would you want your kid wearing another girl’s panties? I just wish I knew where they went because it drives me nuts not knowing.
Everyone is home on Fall Break for the rest of the week, so Brooke and I took the opportunity to try out a recipe we might use to make birthday cupcakes for school. Brooke requested that we make chocolate cupcakes, and for the first time I let her experience a little joy known as licking the beaters clean. She thought they were “Mmmmm….Yummy!”
Today we went to a pumpkin patch and had a great time! Brooke rode on a little pony, danced to music, played with girls and boys, jumped in the biggest pumpkin bounce house ever, rode on a hay wagon, and picked out her own big pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. There are some pictures in her Gallery. Sorry there are not more, but it was awfully hard taking pictures while hauling around a tote bag of baby stuff, Luke in the Bjorn, and a giant pumpkin.
Brooke has recently become quite enamoured with presents, and now she wants to know who gave her all her toys and clothes. Instead of asking “who gave this to me?”, her question is always “what gave that to me?” This morning I emptied the clothes from the dryer into a laundry basket, and Brooke took every piece of clothing out inquiring “what give that to me?” And she has a memory that I could only wish to have these days. I am sure she will remember my answers and tell me later tonight who gave her all the clothes.
This week in school, Brooke learned about her senses. They brought home paper flowers and this picture of yummy ice cream. Notice how Brooke’s ice cream is sitting precariously on the point of the cone.
Better late than never I always say.
