Brooke celebrated her third birthday over the weekend. We celebrated with breakfast at Northport Diner, Chuck E Cheese for games and lunch, and lots of cupcakes on Groovy Girl plates and presents. While I was up in the wee hours of the night feeding Luke, I thought about how three years earlier I was also awake waiting for Brooke’s arrival. And then my water broke, labor started, and about 14 hours later Brooke finally made her appearance via c-section. I remembered feeling so scared about being a mother and excited to meet my little girl. It was the beginning of the most wonderful time of my life. Brooke, each day with you is a fun adventure. Being your mommy is a wonderful blessing. You add sunshine, laughter, singing, dancing, giggling, and joy to each day. It is so fun watching you find yourself and your way in life. Right now you only want to wear dresses and your pink dress shoes, and you love calling yourself “Princess Brooke”. I am not sure where this came from, but it is adorable on you. You love music…singing, dancing, playing drums, and playing the keyboard. You love books and stories. You amaze us each day with what you know and remember. You love school and being a big sister. You are adventurous, fearless, and a natural athlete. You are our princess, and we are so glad that you had the best birthday ever.
