It’s been a while since we have done one of these, so I figured it was due.

Other cool things about me: This month I took my first trip to San Francisco where I got to touch a starfish at the aquarium and ride on a cable car. I also got to go under the Golden Gate Bridge in a boat and over the Golden Gate Bridge on a motorized cable car tour.

Brooke has a Buzz Lightyear night light in her room.  She also has a moon wall lamp (from IKEA) on the wall next to her bed.  The moon lamp was more of a decoration and barely utilized as a lamp until recently.  We started turning it on at night and reading books in the bed by its light before bedtime.  About a week ago she started turning it on again as soon as I left the room because she has felt scared of the dark.  I have no idea how she sleeps all night with that light shining in her face, but she does.  And if it helps her to sleep through the night and not be afraid, I guess it is okay.

Yesterday in the grocery store checkout, Brooke asked for a container of mini M&M’s.  Only she calls them “M-M’s” no matter how many times I correct her and tell her there is an “N” between the “M’s”.   Next Brooke proceeds to tell me “Momma, it’s a phenomenon.”  Please explain to me how she can correctly pronounce a big word like phenomenon and not M&M’s?

Jesus hung on a cross.  He was sad because he could not be with his Father.  Jesus was on the cross.  Then the doctor put a big rock on top of Jesus and told him that he had to go.  The doctor told Jesus to go to Heaven and be with his Father.  And that is Easter.

I know that Brooke gets a school-supplied snack mid-morning, but she has never been able to tell me what snack she gets. She remembers lunch foods but cannot think back to what she ate for a snack. And then she tells me that she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. Well, tonight she told me that she gets chocolate fluffy buns for snack at school. I am pretty certain that she does not get served chocolate fluffy buns and that these are just a Pinky Dinky Doo artifact.

Brooke was painting today and talking about being an artist.  She was describing her painting about the Backyardigans, and then she told me that she is also a scientist.  She is a scientist who works on Luke’s not taking her toys.   Now that is research I think big sisters everywhere would support.
