Every morning this week Brooke went to princess camp at The Dance Centre. She was excited to go to princess camp where all of her girly ways would be indulged (unlike at home). She made some new friends and also got to play with some of her friends from school (Mary Alice, Marlee, Caroline, and Louise were also there). Every day at princess camp was devoted to a particular Disney princess. The girls would get to meet that princess, hear a story about her, watch part of her movie, do a craft for that princess, and dance to a song from the movie. Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle, Jasmine, and Ariel (Little Mermaid) were all there. The teachers compiled all of the pictures and crafts into a cute scrapbook for the girls to take home, and I scanned in a few of the pictures, which you can see here.
Brooke always said that the dancing was her favorite part of princess camp. I think her second favorite part was eating cheetos every day for snack since she is not allowed to have those at home. The only bad part about princess camp was that on the second day, Brooke’s friend Louise cried at drop-off. I don’t think it had ever entered Brooke’s mind to behave that way, but after that Brooke started crying when I dropped her off. She wanted me to stay at princess camp with her. No matter how many times I told her that Mommy was too big and would look too silly at princess camp, she continued to cry. She was always fine and had fun once they got started, and I loved coming to pick her up and seeing her dancing up a storm with a huge smile on her face. Even though I would never have been caught dead at princess camp, I was happy to see Brooke having a fun time.
